A Historical Romance That is Too Much For You to HandleMadame Bovary is one of the most classic, romantic novels ever written. French is a highly cultured language and is extremely popular in Europe. It also happens to be the most widely spoken non-Western language in the world. No wonder that it would be an ideal topic for a book or a movie because of the richness of the language, its intricacies and rich culture. The story of Madame Bovary begins with a young married couple named Marie and Josephine Bourgeois. This is their only child together and the marriage has lasted only five years. Josephine and Marie are both talented and charming and have always had the life they always wanted but there are problems to deal with. Because of their wealth and love for each other, both of them wish to move to Paris to be closer to the French language. Unfortunately, this move will change their entire lives forever. They are more than two hundred years old, the couple has seen their fair share of wars and revolutions, and both have lost loved ones. It seems as though everything they try and do fail. However, one day, during a dinner date with her husband, Marie meets Henri, who is of the same age as her. Henri falls head over heels for her, telling her he has a crush on her and she in turn falls in love with him. But it is not long before the French Revolution turns things upside down and the whole family is taken into hiding. The Bourgeois family, many miles away from Paris, live in poverty and are forced to maintain the family fortune for themselves. After a lifetime of hardships, they finally find refuge in Florence, Italy where Marie has an engagement party. When the event is interrupted by the approaching storm, it seems like a bittersweet moment for the entire family.
